Robert is a Partner at Forbes Hare and has extensive legal experience specialising in (i) equity capital market (including initial public offerings of shares on both The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange), (ii) general corporate and M&A, and (iii) asset management and fund formation (both open and close-ended hedge fund and private equity partnership).
Robert was shortlisted on Asia Legal Business "Offshore Client Choice List" for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023.

Robert, who joined Forbes Hare following more than 15 years of legal experience gained from both onshore and offshore law firms in Hong Kong and Australia, specialises in corporate law, capital markets, open-end and closed-end funds.
Robert is qualified to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including Australia (New South Wales), New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, Hong Kong, England & Wales and the Greater Bay Area of Mainland China. He is also an expert in providing to-the-point solutions and versa-tile offshore legal advice to clients based in Mainland China with multilingual proficiency and in-depth knowledge of the market and business culture.
He has acted extensively on general corporate matters, including (i) initial public offerings of shares of Cayman issuers on both Hong Kong Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and New York Stock Exchange, (ii) M&A, (iii) joint venture formation and (iv) corporate governance and compliance. Examples of his other work would be acting for a major Cayman company listed in Hong Kong in connection with its privatization by way of scheme of arrangement; acting for a PRC based group on the issuance of a credit enhance-guaranteed bond backed by PRC based state owned bank; and acting for the creditor and filing a winding up petition on behalf of the creditor in the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands against a Cayman company listed in Hong Kong. Robert advises clients across a broad spectrum of industries, ranging from multi-national banks and financial institutions, asset management companies, to state-owned and privately-owned companies in mainland China and overseas.
Other than his corporate and funds practice, Robert also assists individuals and family office in setting up trusts in Cayman.
